The World Series of Poker history goes back a long way though and has exploded in popularity over the
past few years. The championship pot hovered around 1 million dollars for years
and then, following the victory by Chris Moneymaker, hasn’t dipped below 5
million! Moneymaker was an unknown internet player who won the tournament back
in 2003. Each year the tournament seems to get bigger and bigger and even if the
overall participant numbers fluctuate, the number of viewers on TV and the
